Dr. Ben Volkman
PT, DPT, SCS, FAAOMPT, CSCS
Ben is an accomplished sports physical therapist based in the metroplex north of Dallas, TX. He has 10 years’ experience of sports therapy working with athletes of all levels as they return from injury and get back to sport.

He is originally from Appleton, Wisconsin and graduated from Angelo State University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to this, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he competed on the Baseball team as a Pitcher.
Ben is the only sports residency and fellowship trained physical therapist in Dallas, a designation that <1% of physical therapists have achieved and is the pinnacle of sports rehabilitation. Part of his fellowship training was spent in North Houston where he saw premier level rehab for elite level gymnasts and cheerleaders. His specialties include sports rehabilitation and sports manual therapy. He has worked with clients from all levels of sport and past clients have come from NCAA, WNBA, XFL, MiLB, MLB and NFL.

AthleteRx Performance Rehab was created to help all athletes and active individuals recover from injury, perform better than their pre-injury level, and to create a one stop shop for all your mobility, strength, manual therapy and sports performance needs.

In addition to seeing clients, Ben is a Lead Faculty member for at the Institute for Athlete Regeneration, where he trains physical therapists in sports rehabilitation and manual therapy. He does this in Dallas and also around the nation.
Dr. Ben is a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA as well as Running Rehab Specialist. He is also Certified in Regenerative Dry Needling and is an Emergency Responder for Athletes.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shannon and their two kids, Jax and Keaghan. They also have 2 dogs, Golden and Kona to keep them on their toes. Having moved to Plano 5 years ago, they enjoy exploring the DFW metroplex for parks, zoo, and museums.
